FAQ
AFTER ROOTING I SEE ONLY ROOT VALIDATOR BUT NOT THE SUPERSU APPLICATION?

As some people reported there is sometimes problem with the rooting procedure files can't be extracted properly (applications, binaries),
so from today (04.08.2012), in every new update there will be an extra second alternative root zip file recognized with the letter,
"b" in the end of the version number. As always in life we must have a B PLAN.
In this root zip file package it will be only the SuperSu application and the supersu binary, no Busybox, Rootvalidator or anything else.
So if the rooting procedure from above didn't work for you then you should run again in recovery mode,
the
universal_gb_unroot_v9.zip to delete all the half extracted files from the root procedure previously done.
After that you can apply
universal_gb_root_v25b.zip known as Root Only.
IMPORTANT: If for some reason after rooting with the universal_gb_root_v25b.zip want to install Busybox
then when you open the application it will give you a location to install busybox to,
/system/bin
(this is for the reason becouse there is no busybox binary in this root zip file) you just need to simply relocate the installation to
/system/xbin
(to relocate the path simply press on the text
/system/bin it will open a new window and change it to /system/xbin) .
This is for a reason becouse in the future you might want to remove busybox and many times happend that it can't be uninstalled properly,
leaving all the applets in bin folder mixing the files with the system files from your Android OS.
Then you need to install root explorer and delete all the applets manualy and trust me is a painful job.
So the problem it will be solved very quickly by installing in
/system/xbin. if you don't like it to have anymore later just use the procedure for unroot

(READ: HOW CAN I UNROOT MY PHONE?)
universal_gb_unroot_v9.zip it will delete all the remaining stuff from busy box in /system/xbin and use again the universal_gb_root_v25b.zip to root.

IMPORTANT:
Root and Unroot method is designed to work in recovery mode on Stock ROM's.
CWM Recovery and Custom ROM's are not supported! And never try to unroot your phone when you are using Custom rom!
REMEMBER ALWAYS BEFORE (wipe cache and factory reset) YOU NEED

...::SRS One Click Root For Android::..

You never know

The good thing about having root is you can go back if you want. The same is not true of not having root. We do not know what steps Google/Tmobile will take to rid the end users of root in the future. For all we know the next OTA will remove the keys that allows the RC29 downgrade method to work and you could be stuck on a non rooted G1 forever. If you have root and for some reason it does not work for you there is always the option of going back.

What Does Root Give Me?

1: Full control over your system
2: Ability to alter system files. You can replace many parts of the "Android Core" with this including:
      º Themes
º Core apps (maps, calendar, clock etc)
      º Recovery image
      º Bootloader
º Toolbox (linux binary that lets you execute simple linux commands like "ls") can be replaced with Busybox (slightly better option)
      º Boot images
      º Add linux binaries
3: Run special apps that need more control over the system
º SuperUser (lets you approve or deny the use of root access to any program)
º Task Manager For Root (Lets you kill apps that you otherwise could not kill)
º Tether apps (like the one found at [android-wifi-tether.googlecode.com])
      º
4: Backup your system
º You can make a folder on your sdcard and backup all of your .apk files to your sdcard (helps if an author decides to "upgrade" you to a version that requires you to pay to use the version you just had)
5: Relocate your (browser/maps/market) cache to your /sdcard
6: Relocate your installed applications to your /sdcard
7: Reboot your phone from the terminal app easily (su reboot )

What Do I Lose Having Root

1: The ability to accept OTA updates (well, you can but you would lose root, so its been made so they get denied)
2: The sense that someone else controls your phone
3: The need to sit in an Android chat channel asking how to get root
4: The need for a stupid useless "File Manager" that lets you see filenames but almost nothing else.
5: The ability to have a knowledgeable conversation with a T-Mobile rep about your phone. (Ask one of them to spell root for you)

More!!
I know there is a ton more, but others will have to fill them in for me.
